Destiny through Character provides teenagers approaching independence from the foster-care system, support and mentoring for the monumental challenges of life they encounter; providing job and life skills that will develop these at-risk youth into positive, productive citizens.
Frank Griseto
Frank Griseto immigrated to America from his native war-torn Italy at the age of nine. The basic necessities of life were scarce and he knew what it was to be hungry and to be without. He always had a desire to succeed and to help others who were less fortunate, he wanted to give back.
He was a decorated Vietnam veteran who risked his life to bring food to soldiers across enemy lines. He continued to serve his country for the next 21 years in the U.S. Army Reserves.
He achieved success in the corporate world retiring after 31 years from a major telecommunications corporation. Subsequently, entering the Police Academy and becoming a Deputy with the DuPage County Police Force.
He was very involved in the community, volunteering for fundraisers at a local Italian retirement home, at the local YMCA teaching women and children self-defense and karate. He was a charismatic person that was loved by all. His dream was to bring support and stability to kids having difficulties growing-up in a chaotic world.
Destiny Through Character was founded to fulfill his dream!
Gloria Griseto
